Stanford Insider Show Preview: Quarterback

Kevin Hogan

The Bootleg's seven-part Stanford Radio preview series begins today with the most thorough look at the quarterback position around. RJ Abeytia is this year's co-host.

Our extensive position-by-position 2014 Stanford football preview continues with a second look at the quarterback position. Last week, we broke down the Cardinal's need for Kevin Hogan to show improvement leading the offense in the red zone and in the Methodical Drive category (this was also covered in our advanced statistical analysis).

Now, through the following breakdown of performance at various parts of the field, we extend our look at Hogan's play and examine exactly where and how Stanford needs to improve entering the inaugural year of the College Football Playoff. Some of the data is fascinating, and much of it suggests that observers can legitimately expect further improvement from Hogan and the offense in 2014. Our full 32-minute podcast featuring first-time guest R.J. Abeytia powers through the evidence. This is the first episode of our annual Stanford Radio Season Preview, which will dedicate an entire show to every single Cardinal position group.
