Arcega-Whiteside Set to Decide

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside is set to make his college choice on Wednesday. The Spartanburg (S.C.) Dorman wide receiver breaks down his finalists as previews his announcement.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside is ready to make his choice.

“Will be making my college decision announcement tomorrow here at 2’clock,” Arcega-Whiteside tweeted on Tuesday night.

It is a decision that the Spartanburg (S.C.) Dorman wide receiver has been looking forward to.

“I’m excited to finally choose one school,” said the 2015 prospect. “It will free up some time and will free up some pressure. I am really excited to get this load off my shoulders.”

The three-star wide receiver had five schools standing out in the end: Michigan State, Stanford, Maryland, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest. He breaks down the finalists with

Stanford: “Stanford is just Stanford. They are one of the best programs, football and academically, in the world. All the coaches out there are so nice, they didn’t have one bad thing to say about anybody. They said everything good about the school; they didn’t put pressure. They have great facilities, and of course you leave Stanford and you know you are going to make it places.”

Michigan State: “It is a wonderful place too. I can’t say anything bad about them. The facilities are top of the line. Their football program is one of the best in the world. They have a real good fan base; their head coach is one of the best people, not coaches, but people I have ever met. And a lot of close ties to Spartanburg. ”

Maryland: “Maryland has a tremendous staff. Their recruiting coach literally grew up right down the road from me, so he knows a lot about me. They have a lot of potential and they are moving up to the Big Ten. They are playing very good competition, and they are doing things the right way up there.”

Georgia Tech: “(The triple option) It has some advantages and some disadvantages. I am going to get a lot of press coverage in that offense on one-on-ones. A lot of NFL scouts are looking for a wide receiver from Georgia Tech because they know how to block. If you have dreams of heading to the NFL, Georgia Tech is a good place. Not to mention they also have one of the top engineering schools in the world. ”

Wake Forest: “They’ve been on board before anyone else was. That was my first BCS offer. They wanted me and they message me about how my day was, so they’ve shown me a lot of love. Their facilities are great and their academics are outstanding. They are building a program from the bottom and they are going to get to end up at the top and that is the best part about it. ”
