| Has emerged as the #1 starter on the Cardinal this season. The Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year, Hudgins is a very polished pitcher with an outstanding strikeout-to-walk ratio. The junior righthander throws his fastball in the high 80’s that will touch 90 on occasion. His change-up is probably his best pitch while his breaking ball is much improved. Has the ability to pitch deep into games. Went 10-1 as the team’s #3 starter last year while he was one of the club’s top relievers as a freshman in 2001. Named the Orange County Player of the Year for his efforts during his senior season in high school. Was drafted in the 20th round by Oakland out of high school in 2000. |
