As a 2007 junior, led Orange County (large schools) in completion percentage at 67%. Was a team captain and a second team all-league pick in the South Coast League.
Started seven games as a sophomore for Dana Point (Calif.) Dana Hills, and was 142-for-225 attempts (63.1%) for 1,523 passing yards and 11 touchdowns and led them to the CIF Pac-5 Playoffs.
He was selected All-South Coast League second team.
