| Biography: |
| Junior right-hander enjoyed a breakout 2006 season on the mound. A walk-on from nearby Palo Alto, Stringer did not pitch in a game as a freshman. Last year, he appeared in 19 contests (four starts) and went 3-4 with a 4.34 ERA. Struck out 47 batters, compared to just 15 walks, in 47 2/3 innings. Possesses some of the best control on the team and has excellent off-speed pitches. Should again see significant action out of the bullpen and has the ability to pitch in long relief or start if needed. |
