| Sophomore outfielder vying for time in the starting lineup this season. A left-handed hitter, August started 29 games as a freshman in 2006 and ended the year with a .273 batting average in 110 at-bats. Could hit leadoff for the Cardinal this season, but will most likely find his name near the bottom of the batting order. Should get most of his playing time against right-handed pitchers. Plays both corner outfield positions and is a candidate to earn starts in left field in 2007. |
