Following the conclusion of Monday’s Stanford football camp, The Bootleg had a chance to catch up with a few of the more highly touted prospects.

Post-camp interview with Stanford WR commit Ty Montgomery

On his camp performance and visit experience…
“Just today, I flew into San Francisco. I was by myself for the first time, so it was fun, and was an experience. But at the camp I felt like I did pretty well. I felt right at home, I’m committed, solid right now so I fit right in and had a lot of fun.”

On the status of his recruitment and recent Georgia offer…
“I’m solid right now. I do have interest in Georgia, but this is where I am, I’m committed here.”

On the application process…
“[I haven’t started it] yet, but I’m about to.”

On his summer plans…
“There’s a USC All-Star camp I’m going to attend and I think that’s it for me.”

On catching passes from Cardinal QB commit Evan Crower
“Yes sir, it was a lot of fun playing with him. That was the first time we’ve done anything together, with Amir, Evan, and me. Also met all the other commits so it was good.”

On the bond forming between the 2011 Stanford verbals…
“Yes sir, we talk a lot on Facebook, sometimes we even text each other.”

Post-camp interview with Stanford LB commit Anthony Sarao

On his camp experience…
“I was here yesterday hanging out with the players, getting chemistry going.”

On the chemistry with some of the other 2011 commits…
“Everything was good, we already have what, 17 commits? We’re all out here having fun - it seems like we’re already on the team.”

On his summer goals…
“This summer I’m just trying to get my technique down. You always need technique because you can have all the talent in the world but if you don’t have technique [you won’t play well.]”

On his standing with his Stanford commitment and the recruiting process…
“I’m solid to Stanford. I worked hard for my SAT so I’m pretty sure I got my SAT score. I’m not worried about that. I’m out here playing with my future teammates and it’s good. I’m solid to Stanford.”

On keeping his doors open until he gets admitted…
“Yeah I’m still keeping my doors open because you never know with Stanford. You get a lot of de-commits at the end, not even de-commits, just kids who can’t get in to the school so you never know.”

Post-camp interview with WR Tacoi Sumler

On the camp experience…
“I came out here yesterday. I just met with the coaches, they were showing me around and stuff like that. I watched a little bit of the camp that they were doing and I settled into my hotel.”

On his impressions of Stanford and the campus…
“This is my first time out here. The campus is beautiful, like it doesn’t get any better. It’s huge and I met one of the professors today and the way he talked about the academics and everything…academically it doesn’t get any better than Stanford. Overall it was a good trip.”

On his goals for the camp…
“Pretty much I’m just trying to let these coaches evaluate me and show them that it’s the real talent, not just on the highlight tapes and stuff like that. Also to prove myself to these coaches and make myself better by competing against the best competition in the nation and just have fun.”

On recruiting…
“If I don’t have a decision before my senior year, I’ll get a top five or top three going into my senior year. I would like to take my official visits but if I know for sure where I want to go I won’t be hesitant to commit.”

On Stanford’s place among his favorite schools…
“I was doing my top 10 and Stanford came in the top 10 easily. My father loves Stanford, my whole family loves Stanford, and I love Stanford now. I got it up close and personal so this trip really helped them.”

Post-camp interview with OL Spencer Drango.

On the Monday night camp…
“It went pretty well. I liked it a lot. There were different drills I wasn’t used to a couple of things but other than that.”

On his summer goals…
“Go to our strength and speed camp up at school just trying to get stronger, mostly legs. Trying to get a little quicker too.”

On the rest of his summer schedule…
“I don’t have any more college camps lined up right now, maybe one or two more if they come up, but I don’t know which ones. I’ll probably just hang out the rest of the summer.”

On Stanford and his favorite schools…
“Right now it’s Baylor and Stanford as my top two, so I have a big decision coming up to make. It’ll definitely be before school starts for me, which is late August, just so I can focus on school ball and not have to worry about college stuff.”

On his decision criteria…
“Probably the biggest thing right now is coaching style and then my relationship with the coaches and how I fit in with the program.”

On his interaction with Stanford o-line coach Greg Roman at camp…
“He was just telling me a couple of key things on footwork which is good because you don’t want to go in there doing the wrong thing.”

Post-camp interview with OL Chris Bryant

On his camp performance…
“I felt pretty good. There’s stuff I can work on but that’s what the coaches here are for, to help me get better and that’s just what I want to do.”

On recruiting…
“I’m hearing from a lot more different schools but I’m still just trying to take it easy and see who has what. Like Stanford academically definitely stands out so that’s just where I’m at right now, taking everything easy.”

On his impressions of Stanford…
“I love it. It’s beautiful, the weather is perfect, they have great coaches, great football players to be around, everything is wonderful.”

On his recruiting timetable…
“I was trying to wait it out but things are starting to stand out. But you never now, I’m still trying to wait it out. Just want to make sure I can talk it over with my family and everything.”

On his decision criteria…
“First academics, that always stands out. You can’t play football forever, so that stands out, and I want a place where you can feel at home, the coaches treat you well but will be on you at practice. They’ll [make you a great] person off the field and will teach you to be a better man off the field, just simple things like that.”

Post-camp interview with WR Jafus Gaines

On his camp performance…
“I think it went alright. I always say I can do better because I know I have more in me so I feel I could have done better.”

On recruiting…
“Right now Stanford is still at the top of my list. I need to get my SAT scores together and when I get my SAT score I’m probably going to commit.”

On working with Stanford commit Evan Crower and the other QB’s in attendance…
“Yes sir, it was nice. I liked some of the QB’s that were here because they know how to get me the ball. Usually I have to wait for the ball to come to me but today when I turned around the ball was there so that was a new experience.”
