Below are our exclusive
BootPowerRatings™ of the Pac-10 conference. Each week
during the basketball season, we will release our secret-formula
rating of all teams of the Pac-10. The BootPowerRating™
(BPR) is calculated by utilizing a range of factors rumored to
include: past results, statistics, common-opponent comparative
results factor, strength-of-schedule, home-arena environment,
cheerleader attitude and an unrevealed school spirit multiplier.
The resulting rating score falls within a 1-100 scale, where 100
approximates a championship-bound team and a score of 1 is
somewhere south of D-1.

| Looking
to answer critics who were unimpressed by the squeakers in
Washington, the Cats administered their annual home thumping
of the La La Lands. Now that the cakewalk is over, Zona
must prove itself on the road against the league's top
challengers. [CatTracks.net] |

| Don't look now, but the weenies have 4 straight
non-losses! If Submarine Shipp is looking to make good
on his promise, he better not let his team look past the So
Cals. Believe it or not, the crumpet point guard has
better numbers from beyond the arc than that other import
named Amit. [CyberBears] |

| The wins over the hapless Washington squads took
a backseat this week to the sudden resurgence of Justin Davis.
With this cog now securely back in place, the defensive
machine that is the Cardinal has only one more component that
needs servicing: Matt Lottich's shot. [The Bootleg.com] |

| Add the Solar Satans to the growing list of teams
that swept UCLA for the first time in X amount of years.
Now, the big showdown with the top ranked foe from Tucson,
pitting the nation's two hottest centers in Channing Frye and
Ike Diogu together. This next stretch of games will show
ASU just how far they have come this season, as their lone win
vs. kal is their only quality victory. [DevilsDigest.com] |

|
| So Luke
Ridnour set the Pac-10 record for consecutive FT's made, so
what. It isn't like he did it while leading his team
into the Final Four. Speaking of the tournament, Oregon
has their ducks in a row to improve their position, as a 4-2
mark from here on out should be enough to land them a 6 seed.

USC
[BPR=64] |
|
| Riding
high after a thrashing of UNLV and basically just feeling
downright dangerous, the Southern Gals wilted in the desert,
being outscored 193-137 in the process. The only
question on the Pac-10 denizen's minds these days is how long
it will be until FireBibby.com is launched. [WeAreSC.com] |

Oregon St.

|
| The bad news is that the River Rats have only
been able to beat four other conference teams. The good
news is that their next four games are against those same
teams. If they manage to repeat the sweep, they will be
assured of their first winning season in seven years. [BeaverFootball.com] |

Washington

| The purple pups are doing their darnedest to play
the role of spoiler but inevitably they come up short. If they
can hold onto their death grip on the 8th slot for the
conference tourney, they will get one last chance to see if
all of those moral victories can be exchanged for a real one. [Dawgman.com] |

9.
UCLA
[BPR=50] |
|
| As if
what they have endured this year isn't bad enough, former
players are now blasting the Blue-ins. A big part of the
problem is the gaudy numbers being posted by the Ryan Walcott/Ray
Young backcourt, who have combined to shoot 34% from the field
and 29% from downtown. [Bruin Report Online] |

Washington St.
[BPR=43] |
|
| Lucky loss number 13 was notched on the road in
Maples on Saturday, which leaves a mere five games left for
the Cougs to become the first team to have the dubious
distinction of going 0-18 in conference play. Someone
should tell Paul Graham there is no draft lottery in the NCAA.
