This outstanding event is being coordinated
by William Edward "Billy" Anderson, a former Stanford
running back, who is the Executive Director
for Arizona/Oklahoma for Prison Fellowship, a nation-wide Christian
ministry that oversees the kids-oriented Angel Tree operation.
Billy combines forces with legendary coach and fitness/conditioning expert,
Coach Ben Parks (one calls him "Coach" or "Coach Parks"), who
happens to have been my ("Emeritus") own high school football and wrestling
coach at Menlo-Atherton back in the late-70s/early-80s. Coach Parks is one
of the most incredible and unique individuals I have ever
known. He even brought the M-A pep band to the send-off of my bachelor
party back in 2002, leading the group in a variety of calisthenics and
cheers!
Your support of Angel Tree http://www.angeltree.org/angeltree-home and Prison
Ministries http://www.prisonfellowship.org/prison-fellowship-home would
be greatly appreciated. Please contact Billy "Big Heart" Anderson
at 602-524-4349 or 480-899-9624) to find out how you can help. The
Bootleg's willingness to voluntarily publicize this special event is clearly an
"implied endorsement" of the ministries' exceptionally fine work and
mission!
