With Stanford's Homecoming coming up on Saturday, we decided to put together
another one of our infamously challenging "Cardinal Crossword" puzzles. This
time out our theme is the Stanford-Arizona rivalry, which began way back in
1979, the year after The University of Arizona Wildcats and the Arizona State
University Sun Devils joined the Pacific 8 Conference and to form today's Pac-10
Conference.
Some fans may find this puzzle a bit difficult as it requires a
breadth of knowledge and recollection bridging a period of nearly three decades. In other words, there are maybe a couple of dozen of you out
there who are fanatic enough to be able to complete a puzzle like this without
any hints ("Terry2" is one example and I have run this one by him in
advance)
