Card Sweep Cal; Win Streak At Eight
It was another close game and another Stanford victory on Sunday afternoon at Sunken Diamond. The Cardinal used a 13-hit offensive attack and a six-run third inning en route to a 9-7 victory over the visiting California Golden Bears to complete the sweep of the non-conference series. The win was Stanford's eighth in a row and improved their overall record to an impressive 10-5 through 15 games. The Cardinal took the lead for good Sunday thanks to a huge bottom of the third inning. Trailing 4-1, Adam Sorgi, who was making just his second start of the season, started the rally with a sharp single to center field. A walk to leadoff hitter Sean Ratliff put a pair of runners on before Brendan Domaracki bounced a single into right field plating Sorgi.
