The Insiders Top 25 College Football Poll (10/28)

This weekend had no shortage of craziness in college football, including losses for five previously undefeated teams. But it's the mighty Cardinal who gained the most in the rankings by knocking off #4 UCLA. At #10, Stanford is making a move into some elite company. Check out the full rankings...

SEATTLE - For most of this season, the Nebraska Cornhuskers have gone about their business with cold precision - just winning, baby - while the likes of Florida, Miami and Oklahoma fought and clawed each other at the top of the polls. Then came this Saturday, when the Cornhuskers knocked off one of the major contenders, the Sooners, 20-10. And now it is they, along with Miami, who sit on top of the heap in TheInsiders.com's Top 25 College Football Poll.

Nebraska's ascension, quiet as it may have been until the end, triggered quite a bit of turbulence in the poll's Top 10. In addition to Oklahoma (7-1), three other schools - Maryland (7-1), Virginia Tech (7-1) and UCLA (6-1) - suffered their first losses of the season and tumbled out of the top 10.

Another school, Washington State (7-1), ranked No. 11 last week, also suffered its first defeat and dropped four spots in TheInsiders.com poll.

Nebraska (9-0) forged the first outright tie for TheInsiders.com No. 1 by ending Oklahoma's 20-game win streak. Miami (6-0) kept pace after a 45-3 win over West Virginia on Thursday.

Syracuse (7-2), which dropped Virginia Tech from the unbeaten ranks, joined the top 25, along with Mississippi (6-1) and North Carolina (5-3). Auburn, Fresno State and Colorado left the rankings.
