Week in Review
(Week ending 9/2/01)
Last Monday (8/27), I checked out the
team's afternoon workout and filed a practice report.
Of note, Biselli's kicking was improving and Teyo was, once
again, making plays all over the field.
On Tuesday, Mark DeVaughn covered the
morning practice and was impressed by Chris Lewis'
performance but quite concerned about the team's continuing
punting woes. ME-97 provided an insightful profile of
potential hoops recruit Dan Grunfeld, who mentions Stanford
at the top of his list. However, Wisconsin provides a strong
challenge (family ties and proximity favor the Badgers). Finally,
one of our new features, TheBootleg.com
Posts of the Week, was released. Congrats to Genuine Realist,
terry, Original East Coast fan and Mike McLaughlin for their
excellent posts.
On Wednesday, Chad snuck out of work and reported on the team's mock
game in the stadium (the team even did "The Walk").
Chad gave Ryan Eklund his Player of the game award.
ME-97 gave us another profile of a potential hoops recruit
when he filed a report on
Bernard Cote last Thursday. Bernard is a 6'9" 225 pound
forward from Montreal, Quebec and is being recruited by Stanford,
Kentucky and Kansas.
On Saturday, ME-97 attended the morning workout and filed a thorough
practice report. Some of the walking wounded were back in
action, including Tank Williams, Kerry Carter, Nick Sebes and
freshman Michael Craven. However, Marcus Hoover's knee was still
wrapped and the staff is anxiously awaiting the MRI results.
Finally, ME-97 filed a report on the
weekend's performance of some of our upcoming opponents. He
liked what he saw from UCLA but was hardly impressed by kal,
Oregon, San Jose State and Arizona.
