Number 6: Nick Wilson Commits to Stanford

Nick Wilson

Georgia product Nick Wilson has committed to Stanford. The Cardinal has netted another powerful offensive lineman from the Southeast.

Offensive lineman Nick Wilson has committed to Stanford, becoming the sixth verbal pledge in the Cardinal's 2015 recruiting class. David Shaw's program has again tapped into its rich Georgia Pipeline: Wilson joins the Peach State's Arrington Farrar in this year's haul for The Farm.

The six-foot-two, 288-pound Wilson projects as another tank-like guard at the college level. His highlights, which are embedded below, showcase his sturdy frame and polished pull-blocking ability. Both of those assets sold Stanford offensive coordinator and line coach Mike Bloomgren, who is on a constant lookout for hogs that fit his team's power running scheme.

"You know what Stanford needs? Another angry guard to help them with their power running game," analyst Jamie Uyeyama said when comparing Wilson to former Stanford standout David DeCastro.

The Farm Boys continue to see success in recruiting offensive linemen from the American Southeast. Just last month, North Carolina center Brian Chaffin pledged to the Cardinal. This past February, Florida products Reilly Gibbons and Jesse Burkett also committed to play for Shaw. They were joined by Arizona linemen Casey Tucker and Austin Hall, two other players expected to anchor the front in the future.
