The Good Guys Get
One!
The achievement-hungry Stanford Cardinal hit the boards and picked up a long-sought
road win in Los Angeles for the first time since 2005. On Sunday afternoon
at the Galen Center, Stanford (17-8, 7-6 Pac-12) and U$C (6-20, 1-12 Pac-12)
established which of the two programs has it somewhat more together,
with the Cardinal collecting its first season sweep of the drain-circling
Trojans since 2005. With five games remaining in the regular season,
Stanford is looking to get to and above the 20-win mark, get to the
post-season, and help hard-working senior Josh Owens finish his
dunk-happy Stanford career on a high note.
Impressive true freshman guard Chasson Randle nailed all four of his second-half three-point attempts to help the
Cardinal rout Troy in the second half after holding a slim 20-18 lead at halftime. USC can't shoot, USC can't score, USC can't rebound. Almost felt sorry for them. Stanford forward Andrew Zimmerman contributed 7 boards in 18 minutes, but I am not really sure what to say about the shaggy look these days, so I guess I should stop writing before I write something I regret. I sure hope it, whatever it is, is being done for charitable purposes!
